Test load-bearing or deflection of soils: Choosing the Right Sensor

In the building, infrastructure, and civil engineering sectors, the analysis of materials and soils is crucial to ensure the durability, safety, and performance of constructions. Testing and sizing foundations, monitoring the longevity of structures, controlling earthworks, tracking ground movements, measuring vibrations… these are all critical parameters to monitor in our cities, ports, airports, dams, tunnels, bridges…
Our client RINCENT has fully integrated these challenges and offers its end customers, in addition to detailed laboratory analyses and pathology diagnostics, the design and manufacture of innovative vehicles and equipment fully equipped to conduct these tests.
Mesurex provided RINCENT with 12 high-load tension/compression force sensors FO A series, capable of measuring up to 350KN (with an overload capacity of 700KN) and offering a precision of +/- 0.25%. These pancake-shaped sensors (outer Ø 148 mm; thickness 65 mm), made of stainless steel, are highly robust with low deformation and insensitivity to transverse forces.
They are designed to be mounted on equipment for measuring impact force in load-bearing or soil deflection tests. They have been specially reinforced to withstand harsh on-site conditions such as impacts, dust, and splashes.
